What is Bioglitter™?

Bioglitter™ is a biodegradable glitter technology primarily produced from cellulose derived from eucalyptus trees. In this technology, the traditional plastic core found in conventional glitter is replaced with a plant-based, biodegradable material.

How does Bioglitter™ break down?

Bioglitter™ biodegrades through natural biological processes.
Heat, water, and oxygen enable microorganisms to metabolize the material, transforming it into:

  • carbon dioxide

  • water

  • biomass

Unlike plastic glitter, it does not persist in the environment.

How fast does this process happen?

The biodegradation rate depends on environmental conditions.
When water, warmth, and microorganisms are present, the process accelerates.

Soil provides the optimal conditions, and in this environment, Bioglitter™ typically breaks down within approximately 90 days.
