Glitter Eco Lovers is certified by Bioglitter™ and we only use Bioglitter in our cosmetic products and signature glitter blends.

Bioglitter is primarily produced from cellulose of eucalyptus trees. The plastic-core of the glitter has been replaced with a plant-based and degradable substance. The eucalyptus trees are planted and harvested according to organic standards.

How does the glitter break down?

Heat, water and oxygen are required for effective biological breakdown by micro-organisms. Bioglitter is metabolized by microorganisms that transform it into carbon dioxide, water and biomass.

How fast does this process go?

When water, heat and microorganisms are present, the rate becomes faster. The best place for it is in soil as all the ingredients are present. You can expect the glitter to normally disappear within 90 days in this environment.

ENVIRONMENT

Responsibility

We believe that all businesses have a social responsibility to limit their impact on the environment and protect nature against environmentally harmful interventions.

We feel committed to promoting awareness of environmental issues and pollution of the oceans, and especially against microplastics such as synthetic (plastic) glitter. There are enormous amounts of glitter in the world, and this glitter more often than not ends up the sea. Each year there are 10.000 tonns of plastic-based glitter produced. Less then 1% produced is plant-based glitter. Staggering numbers, don’t you think?

We offer a glitter that is primarily made of cellulose from organic eucalyptus trees. All our products are vegan and cruelty-free.

All our packaging is also plastic-free, keeping in line with our beiliefs that it is possible to develope products that are safe for everyone: People, Planet and Wildlife.

Our Mission:

Providing sustainable alternatives to plastic glitter for glitter lovers across the globe.
